Hi everyone! I hope your weekends have shelled out to be just lovely. Mine was filled with a chill kind of busyness.
You know, the kind when you’re almost always doing something, but don’t technically have to BE anywhere.
After work, I headed to a happy hour with some of my coworkers. I’m not one to pass down a drink after work on a Friday, so I ordered a new-to-me beer called Single Intent from a local brewery in Decatur, Three Taverns. I failed to snap a pic, but if you like beers on the hoppy side, I definitely recommend it!
Afterwards, I headed back to my apartment where my friend Alex was meeting me. We spent some time chatting and catching up before heading a few minutes down the road to FIGO. I’ve never been a pasta person (don’t hate me!), so I ordered a house salad with salmon and a glass of wine. We also shared bruschetta as an appetizer and it was delicious.
The next morning I started my day with a bowl of oatmeal and a quick trip to Sprouts to pick up a few things to get me through the weekend before attending a 10:50 am Pure Barre class. The workout was super shaky and my heart was pounding as I pushed through the thigh and seat portions of class… A win in my book!
Even more of a win was coming home to a lunch like this… Avocado toast on Ezekiel bread with a dippy egg and red pepper flakes with fresh tomato and peaches on the side. Everything was perfectly ripe and out of control delicious.
Other afternoon activities included hanging by the pool and yet another trip to the grocery store. I normally get my groceries for the week on Sunday, but I ended up having some down time so I decided to get it all out of the way on Saturday.
I might be insane. 🙂
After stocking up, I got ready for a dinner out with two of my best girl friends. My friend Julia is heading off to Yale to start their PhD program on Tuesday (super casual…), so Julia, our friend Emma, and I wanted some quality time before she jets off to New Haven.
We had intentions of heading to Superica, but due to a 2 hour wait, those plans were derailed. Instead we opted for another mexican restaurant called Nuevo Laredo that was equally fantastic.
The evening was filled with margs, salsa, and quality time with some of my longest and dearest friends… It was the best.
Sunday started off slow with a bowl of oatmeal, cold brew coffee, and some blogging. Thanks to yesterday’s grocery shopping, I was able to take it easy before taking my first ever Flywheel class with Julia!
Let’s just say, my wallet is not going to be very happy with me because I absolutely loved it. The class was so upbeat, loud, and energizing that I plowed through the intense workout eagerly, and left completely drenched in sweat.
Did I mention I wore grey? Not my smartest move. 😉
I’ll be sure to post a detailed description of Flywheel in another post after I take a few more classes.
Saying goodbye for a while is never fun, but an endorphin high makes it just a leetle bit easier. 🙂
Question: What was the highlight of your weekend?
Mine would definitely have to be Flywheel – it was out of control!
