Hi everyone! I’ve missed you so very much.
The last week and a half or so have been absolutely crazy. Between work, events, having a social life, and taking care of myself, there has not been much spare time for blogging.
But that’s ok.
I have so many fun things I want to share with you guys. As much as I wish I could snap my fingers and have tons of epic, inspiring, educational blog posts perfectly peppered with wit and humor – I simply do not have that capability.
That being said, I’m really excited for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday to spend time with family, work on the blog, and get in some down time.
In the spirit of my excitement, I’ve come up with a list of “goals” I have for this week that I want to share with you guys.
- Take it easy and enjoy some slow mornings.
My morning ritual in college was to wake up, make some coffee, eat breakfast, and read blogs before class or whatever else I had planned for the day. I didn’t realize until I started working full time how much I took this for granted! Slow mornings are good for the soul.
2. Sleep a lot.
As in 8+ hours every night. I’ve been getting closer to 7 lately, and while that might be a lot for some, my body definitely needs more to be its happiest.
3. Take at least two baths.
With a candle and a good book, because that’s the best way to do it.
4. Read, read, read.
Still loving Why Not Me by Mindy Kaling!
5. Invest in the blog
I hope to prepare some posts and explore a layout change I am looking to make. I have so many ideas swirling in my head that I want to write about, so I really want to take advantage of a few days off from work to pounce and capture some of them. I’m counting down the days until Christmas when I get my new camera so I can attempt to start taking real food blogger photos.
(Santa if you’re reading this I love you!)
6. Eat good food & try a few new recipes.
I have not been the most creative in the kitchen lately, so I really want to start stepping it up! I’ve been frequenting Pinterest and have tons of awesome ideas filling up my pin board… It’s just a matter of choosing which ones!
7. Get in some good gym workouts.
Aside from running on the treadmill, I haven’t had a good gym workout in a while. While I love Pure Barre more than anything, it has definitely made me less “creative” in the gym – simply because I don’t have to be.
The gym by my parents’ house will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve had a membership since my sophomore year of high school, and its truly where my love for exercising was born. Hopefully being back will inspire me to kick it into gear!
8. Go to Barnes & Noble, browse some books, get a coffee, and blog at a table in the connected Starbucks.
This probably sounds crazy specific, but the thought of doing this brings me back to college when I would bunker down to study for an upcoming exam. While I don’t miss the stress of studying, I do miss the feeling of going to coffee shops and getting sh*t done.
9. Go hiking.
This has been on my list for a few weeks, but I’m dying to head out to the local mountain to stretch my legs and soak up some nature.
10. Watch UGA beat Georgia Tech in the upcoming football game.
No explanation needed!
I may go to a lot of Georgia Tech games now, but the Dawgs will always have my heart.
Typing all of that up made me so excited for the holiday! I’m officially counting down the hours until Friendsgiving with my college ladies this Tuesday 🙂
Now it’s your turn:
What are some of your goals for the upcoming holiday week?
What have you been eating lately?
